The return of Medway Can Comp! Schools can win £500 plus more

Schools in Medway are competing to win a whopping £500 in sports vouchers in return of the exciting #MedwayCanComp!

Between 15th January to 9th February 2024 schools across Medway will be competing together by running, jumping, dancing and exercising as much as they can – logging their Team’s miles at

The winning school will be judged on how many miles they’ve recorded per child, for example:

If a school records 100 miles and 100 pupils take part, that will be 1 mile per child.

However, if another school records 50 miles with 25 pupils, that will be 2 miles per child and they will win.

This means that even the smallest schools have a fair chance of winning the prize!

But there’s even more, there will be additional sports vouchers awarded to the runners up!

How do I enter?

What activities count towards the miles?

All activities logged must be arranged activities with the intention to get kids moving more! PE doesn’t count as this is compulsory, with the same going for breaktime (unless it is being used to run a group activity). Any activities outside of these are fair game!

Here’s some suggestions you could get involved with:

  • The Daily Mile
  • Medway Can Stars (star jump challenge)
  • Extra-curricular clubs
  • Lunch time initiatives
  • Walk To School Wednesday.

Whether it’s hula-hooping, skipping or cycling, as students get moving in some kind of arranged activity, the miles can be logged towards the school total.

When will the competition take place?

As soon as the clock hits 8am on Monday the 15th of January, we’re off!

The first set of activities should be logged on Friday, 19th of January.

Medway Can Comp will come to a close on Friday 9th Feb at 5pm.

After this time no more activities logged will be accepted, so get everything in before then!

When will the winners be announced?

The winners will be announced towards the end of February.

Who should I speak to if I have any questions?
