Medway Can move more and Medway did!

People living, working and studying in Medway have travelled over 80,000 miles as part of the Medway Can campaign!

Residents have taken part in an epic 12-months activity which came to a brief pause by an event in Hempstead Valley in March.

The “Wheel of Fitness” event was roundly praised by locals spinning the wheel, taking part in one of the fitness tasks and then collecting a healthy bag of shopping upon completion.

A massive shout out to Thanet Earth for providing the free goodies!

It has been quite the journey to get to this point and everybody who has taken part in a Medway activity has played their part.

The campaign initially tasked people with moving a mile in their own way and collectively log 24,901 miles – the distance around the world.

After a host of school sports days, competitions and public events, that target has been achieved over three times!

Over 40,000 people are thought to have engaged with the campaign and seen the benefits of both moving more and eating healthier.

Keep your eyes peeled over the next few months for more Medway Can news, but for now, take a look back at the journey…
